You’ve done your best to move forward. Something still feels stuck.
Past experiences can continue to shape how you feel, respond, and move through the world long after they're over. EMDR therapy can help you process trauma, anxiety, grief, infertility, and life transitions so you can move forward with greater freedom and confidence. Virtual EMDR therapy is available throughout North Carolina.
What is EMDR Therapy?
EMDR May Be Helpful If…
Could EMDR Help You?
Sometimes difficult experiences aren't fully processed, even when we've done our best to move forward. You may notice certain memories, emotions, or situations continue to bring up anxiety, fear, shame, grief, or self-doubt.
EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) is a therapy approach that helps the brain process experiences that continue to feel unresolved. As these experiences are processed, many people find they feel less reactive, more grounded, and better able to engage with life in the present.
You feel stuck in patterns you can't seem to change
Past experiences continue to affect your daily life
Anxiety, fear, or overwhelm feel difficult to manage
You struggle with self-doubt or negative beliefs about yourself
You want to move forward but aren't sure how
EMDR therapy may be helpful for people navigating:
Trauma and PTSD
Anxiety and panic
Grief and loss
Difficult childhood experiences
The emotional impact of infertility and fertility treatment
Pregnancy loss, birth trauma, and medical trauma
Relationship wounds
Life transitions and unexpected changes
Chronic stress and overwhelm
Low self-worth and persistent self-doubt
You do not need to have experienced a single major traumatic event to benefit from EMDR. Sometimes it's the accumulation of difficult experiences over time that leaves us feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or disconnected from ourselves.
What to Expect from EMDR Therapy
EMDR therapy begins with getting to know your story, understanding your goals, and identifying the experiences that continue to feel unresolved.
During our first few sessions, we'll complete an assessment, develop a treatment plan, and build coping skills that help you feel grounded and supported throughout the process. This foundation helps ensure that when we begin reprocessing, you feel prepared rather than overwhelmed.
Many clients begin EMDR reprocessing within the first few sessions, though every treatment plan is tailored to your unique needs and experiences.
I offer 90-minute EMDR sessions because meaningful processing takes time. Longer sessions allow us to move beyond simply checking in and create space for deeper therapeutic work, reflection, and integration.
Throughout the process, we'll work together at a pace that feels both safe and productive, helping you move toward the changes that matter most to you.
